Every Week

EVERY SATURDAY, Saturday Cycling
The BIG WEEKLY RIDE FOR EVERYONE, starts from Kiwanis Park, SE of Mill Ave and Baseline Rd. We rotate between more than a dozen routes, and at least two distance options are always offered (~2 5miles, and 35 miles or more). The standard (shortest) route is a NO-DROP ride, with Certified Cycling Instructor Kathy Mills riding sweep. Beginners and newcomers are always welcome! There is an optional breakfast stop near the finish. We meet in the parking lot on S All America Way nearest to Mill Ave. The start times throughout the year are: January 8:30 a.m., February 8:00 a.m., March 7:30 a.m., April 7:00 a.m., May/June/July/August 6:30 a.m., September 7:00 a.m., October 7:30 a.m., November 8:00 a.m., December 8:30 a.m. Contact Ken St. John.

EVERY SATURDAY, Sun Lakes Breakfast Ride
Meet at the big flagpole at Sun Lakes Cottonwood Clubhouse on Robson Blvd. just south of Riggs (address is 25630 S Brentwood Dr, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248) for 20-40 mile breakfast rides at a pace of 15-17 mph. Join this Sunday ride option from Desert Breeze Park located between McClintock and Rural, Chandler Blvd. and Ray along Desert Breeze Blvd (north parking lot). Rides are 40 - 50 miles (with cutoff short route options) and the ride is generally dedicated to pace line riding at about 20-22 MPH. Breakfast near the end of the ride. Come join us! The Sunday Kickoff no-drop group rides at a typical speed of 16-17 mph and our overall average speed is about 15 mph. During the cooler months, on the first Sunday of each month we may deviate from our normal routine. Please check the ride calendar below. All other Sundays are from Panera Bread, NE corner of Ocotillo and Arizona Ave, for a ride of 25 to 30 miles, with breakfast at Panera after the ride, with start times of: January-February 9:00 a.m., March 8:00 a.m., April 7:30 a.m., May 7:00 a.m., June-August 6:30 a.m., September 7:00 a.m., October 7:30 a.m., November 8:00 a.m., December 9:00 a.m. Visitors and non-members are welcome. EVERY WEDNESDAY, Wednesday No-Drop Ride
Each Wednesday morning is an opportunity to join us for a no-drop ride in the Southeast valley (Tempe, Chandler, Ahwatukee, Gilbert). The ride distance and pace is set according to who comes for the ride. Usually not less than 20 or more than 40 miles distance. About 12 mph with beginners to short runs of 20 mph with wild animals pedaling. We usually ride from Desert Breeze Park in Chandler and have breakfast/brunch after the ride. October 20 (Sat) Saturday Cycling: Marco Polo - View Map
Start at 7:30 a.m. from Kiwanis Park. The 26-mile standard route goes east on Guadalupe for 12 miles, then loops back on Elliot. The 41-mile long route keeps going east all the way to Ellsworth, then heads a little further south before rejoining the Elliot return path. Breakfast at Panera Bread, McClintock and Guadalupe. Meet in the parking lot on the west side of S All America Way, south of the lake and north of the Sister City Garden. Contact: Ken St. John.

October 20 (Sat) Arizona Bicycle Classic
The Arizona Bicycle Classic takes advantage of our state's best seasons for outdoor adventure in order to serve up an off-the-charts road cycling experience. This semi-annual fun event, held every April and October, features three distances: 28, 56, or 78 miles. The mild terrain along State Route 188, with gently rolling hills, also features spectacular Wild West scenery. According to the state's Cycle Arizona map, SR 188 is one of the least-traveled paved roads in Arizona. The event starts and finishes at picturesque Jake's Corner, about 80 miles northeast of Phoenix. From there, riders will enjoy views of saguaro forests as far as the eye can see, as well as the rugged Sierra Ancha Wilderness and the Superstition Mountains. Meet at 7:30 a.m. in the north parking lot at Desert Breeze Park in Chandler (located between McClintock and Rural, Chandler Blvd. and Ray along Desert Breeze Blvd). Usery Loop (65 miles) - Einstein's at Rural and Guadalupe for Breakfast. Rides are generally 40 - 50 miles (with cutoff short route options) and dedicated to pace line riding at about 20-22 MPH. October 27 (Sat) Saturday Cycling: Mummy Mountain - View Map
Start at 7:30 a.m. from Kiwanis Park. A 40-mile loop with lots of climbing, or 31 miles with a couple of moderate climbs, takes us north into Scottsdale and around Mummy Mountain. October 28 (Sun) 30th Annual Lions Ride for Sight
The Lions Ride for Sight begins at Riverboat Bingo, 18324 West Bell Road in Surprise. The ride follows the Sun Valley Parkway to the north and west of the White Tank Mountains. You may choose to ride 25 miles or 50 miles, then return to Riverboat Bingo, where lunch awaits. Proceeds from the ride help to pay for eye exams and eyeglasses for school children of low-income families in central Phoenix. October 28 (Sun) Silent Sunday at South Mountain Park
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department sponsors Silent Sunday on the fourth Sunday of each month. On Silent Sundays starting at 5 a.m. the park's roadways past the Central Avenue gate will be reserved for non-motorized use. Come on out and enjoy a car free bicycle ride in the park. November 17 (Sun) El Tour de Tucson
Billed as Arizona's largest and longest-running bicycling event, El Tour de Tucson attracts over 9,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities. Cyclists pedal main event distances of 100, 75, 50, or 25 miles or choose the Fun Ride of 10, 4, 1 miles or a fun 1/4 mile activity course. Main event routes feature beautiful vistas of Tucson's four surrounding mountain ranges three rise over 9,000 feet - against the backdrop of the majestic Saguaro cactus, icon of the Sonoran Desert. PMBC members are invited to join us for the 2018 PMBC Holiday Party.
