Every Week

EVERY SATURDAY, Saturday Cycling
The BIG WEEKLY RIDE FOR EVERYONE, starts from Kiwanis Park, SE of Mill Ave and Baseline Rd. We rotate between more than a dozen routes, and at least two distance options are always offered (~2 5miles, and 35 miles or more). The standard (shortest) route is a NO-DROP ride, with Certified Cycling Instructor Kathy Mills riding sweep. Beginners and newcomers are always welcome! There is an optional breakfast stop near the finish. We meet in the parking lot on S All America Way nearest to Mill Ave. The start times throughout the year are: January 8:30 a.m., February 8:00 a.m., March 7:30 a.m., April 7:00 a.m., May/June/July/August 6:30 a.m., September 7:00 a.m., October 7:30 a.m., November 8:00 a.m., December 8:30 a.m. Contact Ken St. John.

EVERY SATURDAY, Sun Lakes Breakfast Ride
Meet at the big flagpole at Sun Lakes Cottonwood Clubhouse on Robson Blvd. just south of Riggs Road in Sun Lakes for 20-40 mile breakfast rides at a pace of 14 to 16 mph. To confirm the start time or if further information is needed contact Sun Lakes Breakfast Ride or phone 480-883-8420.

Join this Sunday ride option from Desert Breeze Park located between McClintock and Rural, Chandler Blvd. and Ray along Desert Breeze Blvd (north parking lot). Rides are 40 - 50 miles (with cutoff short route options) and the ride is generally dedicated to pace line riding at about 20-22 MPH. Breakfast near the end of the ride. Come join us! The Sunday Kickoff no-drop group rides at a typical speed of 16-17 mph and our overall average speed is about 15 mph. On the first Sunday of each month we may deviate from our normal routine. Please check the ride calendar below. All other Sundays are from Panera Bread, NE corner of Ocotillo and Arizona Ave, for a ride of 25 to 30 miles, with breakfast at Panera after the ride, with start times of: January-February 9:00 a.m., March 8:00 a.m., April 7:30 a.m., May 7:00 a.m., June-August 6:30 a.m., September 7:00 a.m., October 7:30 a.m., November 8:00 a.m., December 9:00 a.m. Visitors and non-members are welcome. EVERY WEDNESDAY, Wednesday No-Drop Ride
Each Wednesday morning is an opportunity to join us for a no-drop ride in the Southeast valley (Tempe, Chandler, Ahwatukee, Gilbert). The ride distance and pace is set according to who comes for the ride. Usually not less than 20 or more than 40 miles distance. About 12 mph with beginners to short runs of 20 mph with wild animals pedaling. We usually ride from Desert Breeze Park in Chandler and have breakfast/brunch after the ride. Start at 6:30 a.m. from Kiwanis Park. The Research to Oak route takes us on a clockwise loop around town, with 31 miles and no hills, or 38 miles with some moderate climbing. The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is once again sponsoring Silent Sunday on the fourth Sunday of each month! On Silent Sundays starting at 5 a.m. the park's roadways past the Central Avenue gate will be reserved for non-motorized use. Come on out and enjoy a car free bicycle ride in the park. Start at 7:00 a.m. from Kiwanis Park. Both the 25-mile and 36-mile options include three moderate hills, taking you north through Papago Park, around the St. Francis Cemetery, and returning to Tempe via south Scottsdale. September 4 (Mon) Holiday Bike Path Ride
Start at 7:00 a.m. from Kiwanis Park. Come ride our area bike paths for an easy-going Labor Day ride. It will be similar to the Memorial Day ride with some slight variations. There have been a few changes to the Bike Path route. The ride is 35 miles and flat. The first 27 miles is bike path and the last 8 along good bike routes. Experience the new bike trail along the Rio Salado and a side extension along with the Consolidated and Western Canal Trails. Plan on a good easy-going route for a holiday ride. Add 2 miles and come to breakfast at Arizona Bread; they will be open till noon. Meet in the parking lot on the west side of S All America Way, south of the lake and north of the Sister City Garden.

Ride in the cool pines of Prescott, Arizona - Northern Arizona's mile-high city. Start at the beautiful historic Yavapai County Courthouse plaza and continue through town past the national forest and into the surrounding valleys. You will cruise for almost 54-miles through Skull Valley, Wilhoit, and return through the Prescott National Forest back to the courthouse square. October 7 (Sat) 30th Cochise Classic
Cochise Classic has been called the jewel of Perimeter Bicycling's events, offering the most scenic route around southeastern Arizona where the west is still wild. Cyclists in all distances start and finish in Douglas, Arizona. This adventurous ride has experienced a variety of weather conditions including mild temperatures and breezes to outright heat and wind on rural roads in open range. Be prepared and have fun! October 8 (Sun) 14th Annual Tour de Scottsdale
The 14th annual Tour de Scottsdale kicks off at Market Street in DC Ranch, which is located near the southeast corner of Pima Road and Thompson Peak Parkway in Scottsdale. The event features a 70-mile and 30-mile citizen's ride. Start time is 6:30 a.m. for both the 70-mile and 30-mile ride. The event beneficiary is the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a nonprofit conservation organization in Scottsdale that protects and promotes the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The Tour de Scottsdale event is capped at 2,000 cyclists so register early. Visit Tour de Scottsdale for more ride and registration information.

Join us for a no-drop ride in the far southeast valley (Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek). Our routes are 25 to 30 miles. Typical speed on the flats is 16-17 mph, and the overall average speed is usually about 15 mph. Start time: 7:30 a.m. We ride from Panera Bread, NE corner of Ocotillo and Arizona Ave, with breakfast after the ride. Visitors and non-members are welcome. 'Bents and uprights are both welcome to our no-drop dinner rides Thursday nights in Scottsdale. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at Bike Emporium, 8433 E McDonald Dr, SE corner of Granite Reef, next to Bashas. Meet at 7:30 a.m. in the north parking lot at Desert Breeze Park in Chandler (located between McClintock and Rural, Chandler Blvd. and Ray along Desert Breeze Blvd). Rides are 40 - 50 miles (with cutoff short route options) and the ride is generally dedicated to pace line riding at about 20-22 MPH. Breakfast near the end of the ride. Contact: Glen Fletcher.

October 22 (Sun) Silent Sunday at South Mountain Park
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is once again sponsoring Silent Sunday on the fourth Sunday of each month! On Silent Sundays starting at 5 a.m. the park's roadways past the Central Avenue gate will be reserved for non-motorized use. Come on out and enjoy a car free bicycle ride in the park. October 28 (Sat) 3rd Annual Tour de Tonopah
Join Goodyear White Tanks Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Buckeye for a ride through Tonopah, Arizona to raise funds for charitable projects in the West Valley. The Tour de Tonopah is a full warm up ride for future events. It offers a 100 Km, 65 Km and a 20 Km bike ride, all of which traverse the picturesque Sonoran Desert. The ride starts and finishes at the Tonopah Valley High School Administration building, 38201 W Indian School Rd, Tonopah, AZ 85354. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 7:00 a.m. Visit Tour de Tonopah for more ride and registration information.
