December 19 (Wed) Annual Cookies and Christmas Lights Ride Honoring the Stanley House
SANTA AND YOU SEE THE LIGHTS!!! YOU GET COOKIES AND HOT CHOCOLATE!!!

Hello all....spread the Holiday cheer. It is time to see the holiday lights and, OF COURSE, eat cookies. Many homes are already being decorated even with an early Thanksgiving Day and it looks to be a good year. The trip is about the journey and seeing the neighborhood the old fashioned way--BY BICYCLE. We also say good bye to an area tradition.

THE DATE IS WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 19 AT 7:00 p.m. FROM THE OLD ZIP'S AT MCCLINTOCK AND RAY

Santa Claus is putting together the annual trek to see the lights to occupy his evening riding in early December. Again, this year it will start at 7:00 p.m. and the area of emphasis will be south Tempe. While Ahwatukee was "on the calendar", it has been brought to Santa's attention that the fabulous home on Stanley will be saying good bye this year. The home is up for sale. As such we must visit Tempe and may even go by the home twice kind of like how the Alpe D'Huez was honored.

The start will be the parking lot on the NE corner of Ray and McClintock. It was formerly a Zips which has moved. For post-ride libations some may want to go to Zips just one mile north on McClintock. The Route will be about 15-20 miles ALL FLAT. It is a slow pace so we can look and see along the route.

DRESS WARM as most will not get their heart rates up. AGAIN DRESS WARM!!!!! AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME AND BECAUSE NO ONE LISTENS-- DRESS WARMLY.

As is now the custom there will be lots of cookies and hot chocolate at the stop during the ride. There may also be some Schnapps or 99 bananas.

Please send total numbers of your group and RSVP to Neal Thomas.
